Heather Brown, D.D.S.
Dr. Heather Brown, a native of Jackson, MS, graduated from the University of Southern Mississippi – Hattiesburg. She went on to receive her Doctor of Dental Surgery Degree from Meharry Medical College in Nashville, TN. She received her specialist certificate in Orthodontics at Howard University and graduated as Valedictorian of her class, also receiving an award for superior research.
Considered one of Houston's leading orthodontists, Dr. Brown's community achievements have not gone unrecognized. She is the recipient of the 100 Black Men 2013 Phenomenal Woman of The Year Award and was named one of the 25 Most Beautiful Houstonians by HTexas Magazine. Dr. Brown received the Houston Citizens Chamber of Commerce 2012 Pinnacle Award and has been lauded as one of The Top 25 Women of Houston. Dr. Brown has made appearances on Great Day Houston, Check It Out Houston, and KHOU Channel 11 News. She has been featured in the Houston Chronicle, Health and Fitness Magazine, Seventeen Magazine, HTexas Magazine, Rolling Out Magazine, and d-mars.com publications. Her exceptional clinical skills have landed her in the superior 3% of Invisalign Practitioners in the United States as an Invisalign Elite Provider. Dr. Brown has served as a distinguished guest speaker for the American Academy of Health Professions Commencement Exercises and guest lecturer for ATI Career Training Center Dental Assisting Program.
Dr. Brown is not your typical orthodontist. Aside from all of her awards, she is a wife, a mother, a business owner, a multi-faceted woman with a heart for helping others. She states her crowning achievement was when she founded and established the Houston Chapter of the Smile For A Lifetime Foundation, a national non-profit charitable organization that provides free orthodontic services to disadvantaged children. Additionally, Dr. Brown has partnered with the Houston Texans to form her “Play It Safe” Campaign where she and former NFL Players visit local schools to educate student athletes about mouthguard safety. As an effort to help parents offset the costs of education, Dr. Brown developed the Smile 4 Education Scholarship Program which provides college scholarships to graduating High School Seniors. Dr. Brown also offers an annual summer internship program where she mentors young students interested in pursuing a career in dentistry.
Dr. Brown remains active in several professional organizations, including Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, American Association of Orthodontists, Texas Women's Empowerment Foundation, National Association of Professional Women, and Off The Field Players' Wives Association.
Dr. Brown is married to former NFL player Eric Brown. The couple has two sons, Jaxon and Jace. When Dr. Brown isn't spending time with family or working in her practice, she enjoys shopping, traveling and exercising.
